Magazines Onscreen: 13 Going on 30
You know, I’ve been carrying Vogue around all week and haven’t yet managed to crack the cover. Rather than prolong the pretense that I’m going to manage it tonight, I instead present a clip from 13 Going on 30, one of my favorite depictions of magazine staffers in a movie.
In this segment, Jenna Rink and best friend-turned-rival Lucy Wyman present their visions for a revamp of fashion glossy Poise. The fun—and I don’t mean Jennifer Garner dancing with a bunch of preteens to a Pat Benatar song—begins around 2:57. While it’s hard to argue with Jenna’s vision for a magazine featuring “women who are smart and pretty and happy to be who they are,” I’m really keen to read Lucy’s version. Have you ever been in danger of dying from chicness?

I love that film, it really represents the life of a modern day lady. Jennifer Garner is fantastic in it. Ok it is a rip off of Big but it is done so well and full of so much charm that you cannot help but love it.
