InStyle Just Saved Me $64,705

In the August issue, “Where Can I Find…” answers the burning question of where Eva Longoria shops. Here’s one element of her look:

Oh, thanks, InStyle! I totally would have spent $65,000 in the vain hope of accessorizing just like Eva Longoria if you hadn’t alerted me to the possibility of spending less. I’ll just put my black Amex away now.

Thanks, InStyle! Ever the guardian of my wallet ;)

Now what on earth shall I spend my money on...oh, wait, I could spend it on food and gas. Ho hum.

InStyle is so out of touch. I wish these magazines would stop calling it an investment when they promote these high priced items. You invest in real estate or stocks, not jewelry and handbags.

I saw that, and had the exact same reaction. Except I checked the cover to make sure I wasn't reading Lucky.

And the one pictured is a steal at $300!

That has to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to get that issue so I can put that at my desk. Ugh if I had a nickel for every time I wished I could find an easy way to save $64,000....

So I just saved $65,295 by not buying EITHER necklace! I can retire now! Or apply for head of a mortgage brokerage firm!

Hell, if you have even a tiny shred of creativity and an hour or so to kill, you can MAKE one very similar to that for about $20.

Or, you know, instead of copying what celebrities wear, you could develop your own sense of style.

At my current salary, I'd have to work almost 3 years to afford that.

Who the hell would pay that much money for a friggin' necklace anyway? It's not like Eva Longoria paid for it. I'd bet you anything the designer just gave it to her or (more likely) she borrowed it for the event.

I haven't read your writings in a week or so and I am so glad I am back! You are zippier than ever

I'm thinking I can afford a boatload of beauty products (that includes the boat) now that I won't be buying the $65K necklace! Sheesh.
