Somehow, We Didn't Notice the Similarities Until Now

From Self’s “Confessions of a Cheapskate,” March:Tv_2

I get a thrill when I save a buck or—better—when I don’t spend at all.   A lifelong failed dieter, I consider cheapness my anorexia.

Does anyone else find it vaguely troubling (not to mention utterly ridiculous) that writer Valerie Frankel has conflated a serious illness with her own skittishness about buying a $4,000 plasma TV?

We can’t wait to see the letters to the editor about this one.

I don't know how long you have to work at a women's magazines before you completely lose touch with the rest of society, but somehow, it always happens. An article patting herself on the back for waiting until the TV Is $3500 instead of $4000? Is it required you don't have any sort of social conscience before you get to be editor?

MissPink already said what I was going to say.

Flat screen tv's are the best thing since sliced bread. I prefer plasma tv's over LCD. They have better picture quality and typically have a longer life.
